Tham Mae Lana

Located in Pang Mapha, Tham Mae Lana Cave offers stalactites and stalagmites but is significantly less impressive than its neighbour Tham Lot. Nevertheless it’s a worthwhile visit if you have the time. A stream runs through the cave. The stream is home to a curious breed of fish that is totally devoid of eyes or colour!
Details:
This cave is less visited than Tham Lot and as a result things are more rough and ready. Probably suits someone with a bit more experience of caves than the average tourist. Local guides are available to show you through the system.
How to get there:
Mae Lana Cave is 4 kilometers past Ban Mae Lana village on route 1226 away from Mae Hong Son municipality. Songtaew’s deliver you to the site from Mae Hong Son centre.
