Koh Yao Islands
Being a district of Phang Nga province, Koh Yao consists of 44 small islands. Among these islands, there are 2 main islands that are larger than the rest and where most of the population lives: Koh Yao Yai and Koh Yao Noi.
Koh Yao Yai is twice size of Koh Yao Noi. The important pier, Loh Jaak Pier, is located on this island. The pier is used when traveling between Koh Yao and Phuket Province. In the Island, there are several beautiful beaches that we would like to recommend such as Loh Jaak Beach, Loh Pa Raed Beach, Klong Son Beach, Ao Thi Kud and Ao Laan.
Koh Yao Noi seems to be more popular than Koh Yao Yai. Most of government’s offices are situated on this island. Several luxury resorts can be founded on this island as well. Tourist attractions on the island are Pa Sai Beach, Klong Jaak Beach and Ao Kian.
Around Koh Yao, there are numerous spectacular islands. Koh Kai Nog, Koh Kai Nai, Koh Rang Nok (Li Peh), Koh Nog, and Koh Phii (Pu Lao Hantu) are worth to visit.
Besides its stunning beaches, the islands are also known as a great place for snorkeling. Trekking, kayaking, and diving are recommended activities when you visit Koh Yao.
