🎇🚀 One of Thailand’s most iconic cultural events, the Yasothon Rocket Festival 2026 (Bun Bang Fai), will take place from May 8 to 10, 2026, at the Yasothon Provincial Office.

This vibrant annual festival celebrates a long-standing Isan tradition, where locals launch handmade rockets into the sky to ask for rain ahead of the rice planting season. The three-day event combines cultural rituals, parades, performances, and thrilling rocket competitions.
The festival kicks off on May 8 with a colorful rocket showcase along Chaeng Sanit Road, followed by evening entertainment including cheerleading contests, the “Miss Rocket” pageant, and a spectacular light and sound show.
On May 9, the city comes alive with the grand parade of elaborately decorated rockets and traditional dance troupes. The day also features a royal trophy procession, folk chanting competitions, and cultural performances across multiple venues.
The highlight arrives on May 10 with the much-anticipated rocket launches. Teams gather early for safety checks before the official opening launch ceremony led by provincial leaders. Throughout the day, visitors can witness high-flying rocket competitions and creative parachute displays, culminating in an awards ceremony and closing celebration.
