The Ancient Lantern Candlelight Walk (Wian Tian Takan Muang Boran) 2026 will take place on 📅 July 29, 2026, at 📍 Wat Mahathat, Sukhothai Historical Park, Sukhothai Province, Thailand. The event is held in celebration of Asalha Puja Day, one of the most important Buddhist holy days, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience a traditional candlelight procession in the heart of the ancient capital.

The evening begins with 🕔 free lantern registration at 5:00 PM, where 1,200 traditional lanterns (Takan) will be distributed to visitors while supplies last.
