Lamphun Old Town transforms into an illuminated cultural route from September 25 to October 4
VIJIT Thailand @ LAMPHUN 2026 will illuminate Lamphun Old Town from 5:00 PM to midnight, inviting visitors to explore the history, Buddhist heritage, faith and architecture of the ancient Hariphunchai Kingdom through contemporary light art, multimedia installations and cultural performances.
Held under the theme “The Eternal Kingdom of Hariphunchai,” the event features 10 illuminated locations throughout Lamphun's historic old town. Each location presents a different interpretation of the city's cultural heritage through creative lighting and visual installations.
The illuminated route begins at Tha Sing Bridge with “HARIPUNCHAI – The River of Light”, followed by Tha Nang Gate at Wat Chang Rong, where “Wall of Memories” brings the city's historical stories to life.
Other featured installations include “The Eternal Stream of Time” at the old city moat near Wat Mahawan, “Timeless Light of Dharma” at the Phra Rod basketry installation, and “The Light of Time: Royal Blood of Lamphun” at Khum Chao Chakkham Khachonsak.
At the Queen Chamadevi Monument, visitors can experience “The Eternal Queen of Hariphunchai,” while Black to Basic Café presents “Lamphun Eternal Charm.” The route continues to Wat San Pa Yang with “Sacred Mandala,” Chedi Chai Chana with “The Radiance of Triumph: The Glory of the Realm,” and the chedi at Wat Si Bun Rueang with “The Great Illumination of Faith.”
