VIJIT Roi Et Illumination 2026 Lights Up Bueng Phlan Chai with Isan Culture and Creativity
Ten illuminated installations, mapping, lasers, music and fireworks showcase Roi Et’s cultural identity from October 9–18
VIJIT Roi Et Illumination 2026 will transform Bueng Phlan Chai into an illuminated cultural destination from October 9 to 18, 2026, with activities taking place from 5:00 PM to midnight each evening.
The event features 10 creative light installations exploring faith, local beliefs and the cultural identity of Thailand’s northeastern Isan region. Visitors can experience a combination of illumination, projection mapping, laser displays, mist effects, LED installations and sound.
The programme begins with “The First Beat”, followed by “Portal 101,” an illuminated gateway, and “Hello 101,” an LED landmark installation.
Other highlights include “Inthanin Pulse,” which combines projection mapping and reflections inspired by the inthanin flower, and “Follow the Naga,” featuring a large animated naga display.
Visitors can also explore “Whisper of Himmapan,” where lasers and mist create a mythical forest atmosphere, and “Faith of Light,” which draws inspiration from local beliefs and imagery associated with the Thung Kula region.
The route continues with “Isan Playground,” an interpretation of regional culture featuring white squirrels, wot music and firefly-inspired lighting. “Purple Memory” creates an illuminated pathway inspired by inthanin blossoms, while “Phlan Chai Pavilion of Faith” highlights Roi Et’s distinctive octagonal pavilion through architectural illumination.
Fireworks and Live Music
The opening night on October 9 will feature a fireworks display at 7:30 PM.
Live music will also complement the illumination programme on October 9–11 and October 17–18, providing additional entertainment for visitors throughout the festival.
VIJIT Roi Et Illumination is part of a wider destination-focused programme designed to connect cultural experiences with local economic opportunities and sustainable event development.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has set combined targets across the three destinations in the programme of THB 200 million in economic circulation, 150,000 online and on-site participations, and 1.5 million awareness impressions.
