Venue: Lopburi and Saraburi Provinces Over the last few years, the Sunflower Festival around the provinces of Lopburi and Saraburi has become a firm fixture on the tourism calendar as people travel from around the country to enjoy the amazing sight of millions of dancing flower heads stetching as far as the eye can see. The sunflowers are generally in bloom from the beginning of November till the end of January or even as late as February and during this period there’s lots going on in the region to enjoy. The sunflower fields in Lopburi stretch over 1,400 rai (553.516 acres) and most people like to visit the ones closest to Lopburi town as the sun goes down. So head to Wat Weluwan (Wat Khao Jeen Lae) in the Khok Toom Sub-District for some of the best views or towards the Pasak Dam. There are also flowers to be seen in the neighboring province of Saraburi and farmers spread the growing period out to ensure tourists get the chance to visit. The farmers like to tell people about this history of the sunflower and its growing cycle as well as take advantage of the opportunity to sell goods like sunflower honey and tasty seeds. But there is also the chance to rent bikes and take trams to see the flowers as well as to visit markets and learn about the local way of life.
