Sri Phum Rocket Festival 2026
June 3 - 7 , 2026
🚀 Sri Phum Rocket Festival 2026 Celebrates 313 Years of Isan Cultural Heritage
The annual Sri Phum Rocket Festival 2026 will take place from June 3–7, 2026, along Prasan Mueang Road, showcasing one of Thailand’s most vibrant and historic Isan traditions.
Recognized as a once-in-a-lifetime cultural experience, the festival preserves the centuries-old Bang Fai (rocket festival) tradition of the Sri Phum community, which has been passed down for more than 313 years. Rooted in the “Heet Sip Song” or Twelve-Month Traditions, the event is held to honor Phaya Thaen, the God of Rain, and to pray for abundant rainfall before the rice planting season.
One of the festival’s biggest highlights is the spectacular Ae Bang Fai parade featuring the famous “Sri Phum Pattern,” a unique decorative art style inspired by the ancient “Lai Kop Ping” or “Lai Ta Kob” patterns of the Suwannaphum people. Carefully crafted by local artisans using intricate paper-cutting techniques, the designs represent a cultural identity found only in Sri Phum.
