To a Thais, Songkran is a celebration of New Year. The festival captures the imagination of travelers around the world to join the cultural and fun attributes. Songkran marks the summer season in Thailand, where the heat reaches its peak, making the latter being enthusiastic bouts of water splashing between friends and relatives. 

Songkran festival celebration is held all over the country, in Bangkok the event is held on the 10 - 15 of April. In Rattanakosin Island district, sometimes called “Old Bangkok.” the main celebrations, is focusing on the tradition bathing rites of the replicas of revered Buddha images originating from various provinces in the North, South, East and central regions with traditional food  demonstrations and cultural performances. The opening ceremony will take place, 10 April, at Phra Chetupon Wimol Manklaram or the Temple of the Reclining Buddha.
