Prakhon Chai Candle Festival 2026 to Illuminate Buriram with Grand Processions and Free Concerts

The annual Prakhon Chai Candle Festival 2026 will take place from July 23–31, 2026, in front of Prakhon Chai Municipality Office, Prakhon Chai District, Buriram Province, Thailand. The festival celebrates the Buddhist Lent season with beautifully carved candle processions, cultural performances, and family-friendly entertainment.
The event opens with a spectacular light and sound ceremony, followed by impressive Buddhist Lent candle parades featuring elaborately decorated wax sculptures. Visitors can also enjoy the Candle Carving Competition, showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of local artisans.
Throughout the festival, guests can browse a large marketplace offering fashion items, leather goods, accessories, household products, and a wide variety of delicious local food. A funfair with amusement rides will also be available for visitors of all ages.
On July 30, visitors can enjoy a free concert by Wiang Narumon and witness the festival's grand candle procession. On July 31, the celebration continues with free performances by Guitar Nipaporn, the Kluay Hom Banjongsilp Likay troupe, and On Phanuwat (Chingchasawan).
