September 28 , 2026 - October 12 , 2026
The Nakhon Si Thammarat Tenth Lunar Month Festival and Red Cross Fair 2026 takes place from September 28 to October 12, 2026, bringing together traditional ceremonies, Southern Thai performing arts, local food, cultural activities, and the annual Red Cross Fair.
Held at Sanam Na Mueang (City Park Ground) and Somdet Phra Srinagarindra '84 Park (Thung Tha Lat), the 15-day celebration highlights one of Nakhon Si Thammarat's most important cultural traditions. The festival reflects the local community's faith, gratitude and custom of making merit for ancestors during the Tenth Lunar Month.
One of the major highlights is the spectacular Mharub Procession on October 10, featuring elaborately decorated Mharub floats representing the cultural identity of local communities. The procession begins at the City Park Ground and travels along Ratchadamnoen Road toward Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan, where the ancient Mharub offering ceremony and Royal Golden Mharub Trophy presentation take place.
Visitors can also enjoy Nang Talung (Southern Thai shadow puppetry) competitions, Manora performances, Phleng Bok folk singing, improvised poetry, traditional Tenth Month desserts, local food demonstrations and cultural exhibitions. The Creative Cultural Zone includes demonstrations of local wisdom and a unique Preta Puppet Exhibition.
The festival also features a lively Red Cross Fair with local OTOP products, food and shopping stalls, government and Red Cross exhibitions, career guidance, demonstrations and a Red Cross lottery. Evening entertainment includes singing competitions, beauty and talent contests, Thai fabric fashion shows and youth activities.
