The Loi Krathong Festival at Phadung Krung Kasem Canal in Bangkok (13-16 November 2024) offers a magical cultural experience with traditional lighting shows, workshops, and eco-friendly activities, blending ancient customs with modern technology.
From 13-16 November 2024, the Loi Krathong Festival will take place along the Phadung Krung Kasem Canal, near Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong). Under the theme 'Amazing Night of Lights: Loi Krathong Festival', the event promises an enchanting experience. Visitors can enjoy extended hours until midnight on the full moon night. Key highlights include a nightly 'Lighting Illumination Show' showcasing five unique Loi Krathong traditions from across Thailand: Chiang Mai’s Yi Peng Festival, Roi Et’s Somma Nam Khuen Peng Seng Prathip, Samut Songkhram’s Loi Krathong Kap Kluai Mae Klong, Sukhothai’s Loi Krathong and Candle Festival, and Tak’s Loi Krathong Sai Lai Prathip 1000 Lanterns.
The event also features workshops on making biodegradable krathongs, traditional Thai cooking stations, cultural performances, and the opportunity to float krathongs on the canal. Additionally, the festival integrates modern technology, offering interactive krathongs and online experiences through the Metaverse.
