Venue: Chinatown on Yaowarat Road, Bangkok Chinese New Year is widely celebrated in Chinatown on Yaowarat Road, one of the most famous roads in Bangkok often referred to as the Golden Road and the Land of the Siamese Dragon. Visitors experience the strong connection between Thai and Chinese communities through the magnificent cultural performances that show the deep roots of Chinese culture in Thailand. This special occasion is opened by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn every year. There are several shrines located in this area, and it is believed that making merit at them during Chinese New Year brings good luck. Highlight: Street performances such as dragon parades and lion dances, take place along Yaowarat Road, along with a wide range of delicious Chinese cuisine on sale on both sides of the street.
