Events taking place at Nagaraphirom Park on the opposite site of Wat Arun to ring in the New Year in style with spectacular fireworks display above the mighty Chao Phraya River, and cultural and music performances.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) extends a warm invitation to the 'Amazing Thailand Countdown 2024 Vijit Arun' celebration, set to unfold on New Year's Eve at Nagaraphirom Park, offering a stunning view of the iconic Wat Arun, or the Temple of Dawn, along the grand Chao Phraya River in Bangkok.
Scheduled from 18:00 Hrs. on December 31, 2023, to 00:30 Hrs. on January 1, 2024, the event promises an enchanting evening filled with cultural and musical performances. Attendees can revel in Khon masked dance drama, the Joe Louis Thai Puppet Show, symphonic renditions by the Chao Phraya Symphony Orchestra, and live concerts by renowned Thai artists. The floating stage, set against the Temple of Dawn, will provide terrace seating along the river for a memorable experience.
As the clock approaches midnight, a countdown ceremony will mark the culmination of the event. At the stroke of midnight, a series of nine captivating 7-minute fireworks displays will illuminate the Chao Phraya River, portraying the evolution of Thailand and its tourism journey. The audience is invited to join in singing popular New Year songs, accompanied by the Chao Phraya Symphony Orchestra.
This Countdown celebration concludes the month-long Vijit Chao Phraya light extravaganza and the Thailand Winter Festival year-end spectacle, showcasing Thailand's cultural richness on a global stage. It also aims to enhance the vibrancy of the Chao Phraya River, boost business opportunities for local entrepreneurs, and contribute to the commercial vitality of the area.
In addition to the 'Amazing Thailand Countdown 2024 Vijit Arun,' TAT is co-hosting the Korat Winter Festival and Countdown 2024 at the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Hall from December 29-31, featuring a New Year countdown, Nakhon Ratchasima's 555th-anniversary fireworks display, light decorations, and live concerts.
TAT is also providing support as well as helping to promote New Year celebrations across the country as listed on the Thailand events calendar for Countdown 2024.
TAT expects the Amazing Thailand Countdown 2024 New Year celebrations in Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima and providing support for other events throughout the kingdom to generating 54 billion Baht in tourism revenue.
