2010 Mekong River International Multisport ITU Asian Cup

From the 26-28 of March, Mekong River International Multi-Sport ITU Asian Cup, 2010 will kick off to a start. The event will be display in downtown Nong Khai next to the picturesque Mekong River.

To get to Nong Khai by plane, one has a choice between two airline Thai Airways and Budget airline Air Asia. Since the city doesn’t have its own airport, the nearest airport is at Udon Thani. Alternative option would be by train service which will lead you directly to Nong Khai’s station, located close to Mekong River. The line end short of Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge, but plan to open the new track to Lao is on track to finish later this month. 

Events & Distance:

1. Aquathlon ITU Asian Cup (Friday 26 March 2010):
Swim 1.5 km + Run 5 km

2. Duathlon ITU Asian Cup (Saturday 27 March 2010):
Standard Distance: Run 10 km + Bike 40 km + Run 5 km
Sprint Distance: Run 5 km + Bike 20 km + Run 2.5 km

3. Triathlon ITU Asian Cup (Sunday 28 March 2010):
Standard Distance: Swim 1.5 km + Bike 40 km + Run 10 km
Sprint Distance: Swim 750 m + Bike 20 km + Run 5 km
