With a regular crowd of expatriates serving as its clientele, Chequers has become a home away from home for many of its British customers. Just up the road from Nana Plaza, Chequers is a smallish place which really packs them in! Housed in a two-storey building, upstairs acts as a restaurant while downstairs is reserved for people more interested in having a drink. However, all that changes when a big football game (usually English premier league) appears on the big screen upstairs - everyone mingles together to get the best view of the action.
The restaurant's excellent menu offers traditional British food and some of the more usual Thai dishes. Daily specials are worth looking out for - good value and very wholesome. Chequers has a well stocked bar with local and foreign beers available as well as spirits and cocktails. Managed by a Brit, Chequers is a place regular visitors to Bangkok come back to again and again. A very friendly place and recommended by all.
