Bourbon Street is an authentic American bar which is entirely American owned. The bar serves excellent food including Cajun and Creole dishes. A number of barbeque dishes are also available, including ribs, steaks and chicken. Costs are mid-range, with each item priced at around 200 Baht. Local and foreign bottled beer available, as well as draft beers, spirits and cocktails. A very pleasant dining experience, Bourbon Street has won a number of awards in the past. Well deserved, too! The nearest BTS station is Phrom Phong. Bourbon Street also has another branch in the Somerset Building Soi Tonson, Ploenchit Road.

As with Hard Rock cafes elsewhere in the world, the Bangkok Hard Rock is a tourist attraction in its own right. On an hourly basis you can see people queuing up to have their picture taken with the restaurant/bar in the background - "Been there; done that"! Strangely, many people seem to turn up, buy the Hard Rock, Bangkok merchandise, and then leave! Doing this they miss out on a great entertainment experience. The main feature of the Hard Rock, Bangkok is live bands. They really do have some good bands playing - usually local, but foreign bands play with increasing regularity. It's a fair sized place, but if you are coming for a quiet chat, come early - when the bands are on it's more like a concert hall! The Hard Rock has tremendous food; a splendid range of burgers and steaks alongside 'bar snacks' such as onion rings and potato skins. They also have good desserts - try the 'Mud Pie'. As with all Hard Rock Café's, there are a lot of local and foreign beers and spirits to choose from. The service is excellent. There's a special price of HRC Snack called Bar Bite promo valid from 4-7 pm.

A genuine American-theme bar (albeit part of a multinational chain), Henry J. Bean's Bar and Grill is a large place offering a great menu (including Tex-Mex food) and a solid range of American beers and spirits. A happening place that draws a 'well-healed' local crowd as well as a solid clientele of expats. Located under a first-rate Bangkok hotel, Henry J. Bean's also entices good numbers of tourists and visitors. The staff have the efficiency and geniality you might expect from those trained by a large American organisation. 'Pay-day Party' on the last Thursday of each month proves a popular event, and with two happy hours daily (buy two draft beers between 17.30 and 19.00 & 23.00 and midnight and you'll get an extra one) means the slightly higher than usual 'hotel' prices might be a little offset by the discounts. Great entertainment that can also be experienced at their Amari Airport Hotel branch and their Pattaya branch.

This bar and grill located in Washington Square (Sukhumvit Soi 22) has a diving theme and its very own private (manmade) beach! A curious blend of restaurant and diving shop, Larry's arranges diving trips and rents diving equipment alongside offering some great food and drink. While the cost of food and drink is in the middle to high range, what you get represents great value. A jug of beer costs a moderate 195 Baht and a bowl of Chili on rice costs 145 Baht. A Clubhouse Sandwich with everything on it will cost 185 Baht. Definitely a unique and enjoyable experience, Larry's Dive is certainly worth a visit. The nearest BTS station is Phrom Phong.
