Benchasiri Park was opened in 1992 to commemorate Her Majesty the Queen’s 60th birthday. One of a few parks in the Sukumvit area, it is situated next to the Emporium shopping centre. It is not one of Bangkok’s larger parks, but it is very well designed and maintained. The park also features a number of sculptures and other works of art. Set in a very urban environment, close to a major road and an exclusive shopping centre, Benchasiri Park offers a somewhat unique and relaxed perspective on city life.
Details: Admission is free and the park is open from 05:00 to 20:00.
How to get there: By far the quickest way to get to the park is by BTS stopping at Phrom Phong station. The station leads directly into the Emporium which is right next to the park. However, if you must travel by taxi and a journey from the centre of the city will cost around 50 Baht.
