Around 20 kilometres from the main Trang municipality, Khao Chong Wildlife and Nature Education Centre is one of the most attractive places to visit in southern Thailand. The centre is intended for nature and wildlife study and features a series of nature study trails for visitors to walk along. The trails take you through tropical rainforest, streams and a number of waterfalls including Namtok Ton Yai and Namtok Ton Pliu. Along the trails a series of signs provide information about the plant life and wildlife specific to each area. The centre also features a museum and exhibition on nature and natural resource conservation. A trip to the centre is often combined with a visit to nearby Khlong Lamchan Waterfowl Park. This is a good place to visit, and expect to be here for half a day at the very minimum.
How to get there: Khao Chong Wildlife and Nature Education Centre is 20 kilometres east of Trang on the Trang-Phatthalung highway. Songtaews are available from Trang city. If you need to let someone know where you are going, this should help:
