Thong Pha Phum Fruit Festival 2019

The annual Thong Pha Phum Fruit Festival is returning this year, from 28 June to 2 July 2019 at the Helipad at the Vajiralongkorn Dam, Thong Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi.

The event aims to promote local agricultural products and stimulate tourism to Thong Pha Phum district, which is known for its lush tropical forest, mountainous landscape, headwater sources and rate wildlife animals, as well as to help generate more income for the local communities.

Thong Pha Phum is famous for its delicious fruits and vegetables, including rambutan, mangosteen, durian, pomelo, longan, salak and pakria. All these as well as organic vegetables, exotic plants and local souvenirs more will be available at the festival.

The five-day fair also features several competitions for best quality agricultural products, processions of floats decorated with local fruits, and exhibitions from relevant public and private sector organisations. There are also performances by local ethnic groups, including the Karen, Lao, Hmong, and Yao, as well as nightly entertainment on stage.

When in Thong Pha Phum, visitors are encouraged to visit its many natural attractions such as Hin Dad Hot Spring and the waterfalls of Pha Tat and Pha Sawan or enjoy fishing and rafting around the lake above the Vajiralongkorn Dam. There are also temples, local communities and fresh markets to observe the local way of life.
