Named after the current queen of Thailand, the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center is Thailand's premier exhibition and conference centre. The centre has been built with a view to catering for national and international events and has played host to some of the biggest events ever to take place in Thailand. These include the World Bank/IMF Conference of 1991 and the 10th Session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD X) in 2000. However, the centre's flexible design means that it can play host to a variety of levels of event. Its architectural style is a excellent blend of Thai tradition and the ultramodern.
