We Will Rock You

We Will Rock You

We Will Rock You, known universally as WWRY, is in Thailand at the end of a tour that has seen the show venture from the West End of London, to Auckland, New Zealand, Seoul, South Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong. This musical extravaganza takes place at Muangthai Ratchadalai Theatre, July 12-July 27, 2008. A “jukebox musical” written by English comedian and author Ben Elton, We Will Rock You is based on the music of legendary British rock band, Queen and was written in conjunction with 2 of the bands members.

The action takes place in a world where musical instruments are banned; a “Ga Ga” world that used to be Earth, but is now known as Planet Mall. Here youngsters wear the same clothes, listen to the same music (boy bands and girl bands) and have the same thoughts.

.

In such a world, of course, rebellion is afoot, and the musical chronicles the journey of ‘Galileo’ on his quest for a mythical guitar – one of the only remaining instruments on Planet Mall.

Based on the songs of Queen, the musical includes a string of hit singles, including Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, Killer Queen, Another One Bites The Dust, and Crazy Little Thing Called Love. If you are looking for good old British kitsch and a trip down memory lane, this is the event for you.
