Singaporean budget airline Jetstar Asia has launched a Phuket route with four flights a week to the holiday island. The move is seen as a boost to efforts to revive Phuket’s economy after the 2004 Tsunami. "Phuket is solidly back on the map. All indications point to an economy that has settled down and is ready to accept a new phase in its tradition as a great resort destination," said Ken Ryan, chief executive of Jetstar Asia in a statement. Jetstar Asia is offering a promotion one-way fares S$30 or 720 Baht (before tax). The promotion runs until 15 Dec., 2005. |
