The Riverside Bar and Restaurant offers an extremely nice setting – you can see Doi Suthep from here and catch views of the River Ping. However, the food might take you mind off the surroundings – genuinely excellent! Indoor or outdoor dining available, as is a dining on a boat trip which ambles along the river. The Thai food is probably the best, but the menu offers European dishes alongside vegetarian fare. Well-stocked bar available offering local and foreign beers, spirits and wines. Well worth hunting this place out if you are nearby.

Asma is a reasonably priced air-conditioned restaurant located in the night bazaar. The menu is reasonably extensive including Muslim food and the usual Masalas, Curries, Kormas, Dal Fry, Tondoori Chichen Lasi, and Nan / Roti breads. Friendly staff and appealing décor make Asma a good dining experience.

Located near to Tha Pae Gate, Aum Vegetarian Restaurant offers the usual range of dishes you might expect from a quality establishment. Excellently prepared dishes at very reasonable prices make this restaurant a draw for locals and visitors. Well worth a visit.

This is one of the main places to come if you are looking for sushi or soba in Chiang Mai. Air-conditioned restaurant with authentic Japanese bamboo furniture, Irasshai offers all of the dishes you might expect of a quality Japanese restaurant, and more. Sashimi, Tempura – it’s all there on the menu for your pleasure! Japanese beer is available at 120 a can as is Sake at the same price. A variety of specials and sets are generally available. Great place to visit if you have the chance.

Kafe Bar and Restaurant has an excellent Thai menu complimented by a reasonably extensive European menu. This place has excellent, friendly service, great décor and ambience. Particularly nice ornaments from a variety of regions adorn the interior. Despite its traditional feel, they play modern music and have cable TV. 

This is yet another great little Vietnamese restaurant in Chiang Mai. The restaurant has an excellent menu including some imaginative noodle dishes that are both traditional and a little out of the ordinary – fresh and nutritious. Opens 07:00 to 21:00.    

Naina Indian Food & Drink has a good selection of predominantly Indian dishes.

Well known amongst Chiang Mai’s expatriate community. This is a big, spacious place, probably a bit bigger than your usually Irish pub/restaurant – perhaps best to consider as having an Irish theme. Excellent little sports bar upstairs for pub sports enthusiasts and some outdoor seating. Good range and beers and spirits in stock.
Guinness comes in at 160 Baht a pint. O'Malley's is easily accessible by public transportation. To get there by taxi ask for Anusarn's Market and it is nearby.
