The Khao San Palace is a good place to stay. Located directly on Bangkok’s Khao San Road, but set back from the road and quiet, its rooms are immaculately clean with attached bathroom and shower. Amenities include air-conditioning and TV with satellite channels. There is much more of a hotel feel about this place; it is certainly not a guesthouse. Right at the centre of the Khao San action. 

A quiet and clean guesthouse located on Bangkok’s Khao San Road – one of the originals and very well established. Its 28 double rooms are fan cooled and include private bathrooms. Clean, functional, and ideal for those trying to get the most out of their travelling budget. This is another guesthouse that is firmly part of the Banglampoo backpacker scene. 

The River View Guest House is a family-managed establishment off Bangkok’s China Town. It has the quality of providing budget prices whilst offering excellent views of the Chaopraya River. Its rooms are functional, comfortable and clean. The management here is renowned for going to great lengths to make your stay enjoyable. Although not easy to find, it is good value if budget is your concern.

New Joe Guesthouse is one of the originals and has been offering reasonably priced accommodation for over a decade located near Khao Sarn Rd. Staffs on duty 24/7, laundry service, luggage storage service, safety deposit boxes and overseas calls. Onsite with travel agency, massage parlor, restaurant, café and Internet access. Fan-cooled single room: 280 Baht, Air-conditioned: 500 Baht.
