This is one for the world’s iron men and women… A Vertical Marathon… The winner, the man or women who scales the 61 storeys or 1,093 steps of one of Bangkok’s leading hotels the fastest. Taking place at the Banyan Tree Bangkok (an ideal setting a - slither of a building jutting out into the metropolitan skyline), the event raises money for the Thai Red Cross HIV Formula Feeding Fund, a charity under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali. Prizes include accommodation free stays at the Banyan Tree hotels around the country, air tickets, food vouchers and winners receive trophies. The fastest recorded time for the event so far is 5 minutes and 58 seconds – about the same time it takes people like me to get up 5 or 6 flights!
