Located about 30 kilometers out of Bangkok, the Rose Garden (Suan Sam Phran) offers some of the nicest gardens you are ever likely to see. The site comprises 75 acres of perfectly manicured grounds with a lake as a central feature. Certainly a place for gentle strolls and picnics, the resort also offers a number of excellent restaurants alongside cultural shows including handicraft skills, Thai boxing, and sword fighting. For the children’s entertainment there’s also an elephant show, and for adults, the site has its own golf course and a spa. Given the distance involved, a visit is going to be an all day affair, as such, unless you have plenty of time to spare in the capital, a visit to the Rose Garden is unlikely to be high in your list of priorities.
Details: The Rose Garden is open daily with shows taking place at 14.45.
How to get there: People often combine a trip to the Rose Garden with a trip to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, and this is often done on one of the tours available in the capital. If you want to go independently, a taxi is recommended, especially if you are taking children.
