Thailand Travel and Dive Expo (TDEX) - May 15-18, 2008

Bangkok Jazz Festival 2005

Bangkok Jazz Festival 2005 takes place 16 – 18 December, 2005 and there is an intriguing line up of home grown and international talent for your entertainment. Artists include (Friday, 16 December, 2005) Veronica Mortensen, Harvey Mason Trio, Incognito and Toninho Horta Band; (Saturday, 17 December, 2005) Local Jazz (Thai), Masato Honda, Eldissa, Bob James +

Angels of Shanghai Band, Larry Carlton and Sapphire Blues Band; (Sunday 18 December, 2005) Neils HP, Earl Klugh, Jack Lee + Asianergy Project and Fourplay. If you are in Bangkok this will be well worth a visit. Shows start 18:00 and finish 24:00. Things start getting crowded around 20:00. Note the venue has no seats - you just plonk yourself down on the grass - you can make yourself more comfortable by taking a folding chair, although you can get them at the venue (last year chairs showing the Heineken logo sold for just 500 Baht). Although you will be in the tropics, you might find it a little nippy this time of the year and at that time of night, so take a jacket with you just in case! The big acts are on late in the evening so expect to wait for the best!

Venue Details:

Getting There:
Although you can get to Sanam Suepa by car and there is ample parking because it is close to Rama V Monument, you might be better off going by public transport (standard bus: 70, 72; air-con bus: 3), taxi (around 80-90 Baht from the town centre) or tuk-tuk (around 60 Baht from the town centre).
