March 15-18, 2007 sees Bangkok throw up the catwalks for "Bangkok International Fashion Week 2007" (BIFW). The event, a 50 million Baht extravaganza, takes place at Siam Paragon's Parc Paragon and will feature the work of more than a dozen Thai designers. Brands being displayed include Greyhound, Kai, Theatre, Tube Gallery, FASH, alongside international brands such as Dorian Ho (Hong Kong) and Jimmy Choo (London).
Backed by the Nation Newspaper, Kasikorn Bank, Harpers' Bazaar, Muang Thai Life insurance, Nokia and L'Oreal, BIFW is the private sectors response to the recent cancellation of Bangkok Fashion City and aims to maintain Bangkok’s credibility as a fashion center and ensure local fashion continues to have a place on the international stage. For fashion officiados this is the one!
