Now in its fifth year, the Bangkok International Film Festival (BKKIFF) takes place February 17-27, 2006 at the newly opened Siam Paragon in Bangkok. This year’s event promises to be the biggest and most sophisticated to date, with some of the best films on offer from a host of countries including Italy, Brazil, Turkey, United Kingdom, France, New Zealand, USA, South Africa, Canada, and Germany. The event also showcases regional talent with films from Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesia alongside offerings from many other parts of Asia.
Thai film Invisible Waves directed by Pen-Ek Ratanaruang’s will open the proceedings and in total in excess of 150 films will be on show ranging from high profile US studio productions to independent films, shorts, and documentaries.
