The 2005 International Series ATP (Thailand Open) will be held between 24 September and 2 October 2005 at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani. Thailand was the first Southeast Asian to run an ATP tournament and this prestigious international sporting event continues to grow in international stature. The Thailand Open now offers prize money of $550,000 and a worldwide audience of millions. To underscore its importance, this year’s tournament has attracted some of the world’s greatest players including world number one Roger Federer, Australian Open champion Marat Safin, British idol and world number 11 Tim Henman, top German player Tommy Haas, and of course local hero, Thailand’s Paradorn Srichaphan. Format for the tournament is best of 3 tie-break sets and the 32 round tournament leads to the finals held Sunday 2 October 2005 at 14:30.
