Over the last decade there has been a substantial increase in activities that push people to their physical and mental limits. Loosely termed, ‘extreme sports’, Bungee Jumping is one of the most challenging activities there is.
Worth seeing
Bungee Jumping requires people to climb rigs or platforms to hurl themselves off at heights of 50 metres plus with nothing more than an elastic cord to save them. The initial climb is often very strenuous, but the effort required to overcome innate fears and actually make a jump is monumental. It seems that once people overcome their initial fear they know no bounds – bungee jumpers can become addicts taking jumps again and again to fuel their adrenalin soaked obsession. Some transition to sports like freefall or ‘base’ jumping – even scarier! If you want to face your fears and overcome them, you can do it while you are in Thailand. Bungee Jumps are dotted around the kingdom, with some of the more well known sites in Pattaya, Phuket and Chiang Mai.
