Temples in Phuket

Temples are a key feature of daily life all over mainland Thailand and this is no less true on Phuket.

Although they are the same temples you might visit on the mainland, Phuket temples have a local flavour that is subtle, but still very noticeable. Many temples feature characters from Phuket’s past and house statues and items significant to Phuket’s development. Here temples much more an integral part of the local community than in other parts of the country, as such they are the centre of a considerable amount of activity you might not normally associate with a temple.
