The two Surin Islands are recognized as offering some of the best diving in the country, especially in the stretch of water between the two islands. The marine life here is plentiful, offering some of rare species of fish including whale sharks and the occasional manta. The reefs are also a blessing – huge swaths of coral of every imaginable colour make the underwater scene truly astounding. Although diving is of course possible in the area, the generally shallow reef (around 5 metres) means snorkeling is straightforward and accessible. If diving and snorkeling are your thing, you are going to enjoy the Surin Islands.
